Therapy for Teens
Maturing into a young adult involves rapid growth and change. This stage of life can feel overwhelming and a time of increasing uncertainty. Pressure can come from family, personal safety, academics, social media, new freedoms, identity and self esteem, just to list a few. Oftentimes these stresses create symptoms in the teens life as the teen pursues autonomy and tries to navigate in a world alone, without support.
I provide intense therapeutic support by actively listening to the teen and their caregiver and begin assessing presenting concerns, and implementing interventions aimed at restoring equilibrium for both young clients and their caregivers. I have worked with countless teens and their families and have seen dramatic results over time.
My approach emphasizes establishing safety first, when safety is a concern and building a holistic treatment plan that at its core includes therapeutic trust to facilitate improved understanding, effective communication, strengthens family and school relationships, and reduces overall conflict in the family setting.
